Member institutions are invited to register two trainees (one graduate student and one postdoctoral fellow if applicable) from each T32 program. CABTRAC offers shared hotel guestrooms to trainees to encourage networking and to help with travel costs. Roommate assignments are made by CABTRAC based on gender. Trainee registration slots can be held in advance under faculty registrations for un-named trainees. Trainees may attend even if no faculty are able to attend.
Programming for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows include:
- Career Roundtables – meet in small groups with mentors from various career paths such as biotech, teaching, research, science communications, etc.
- Poster session – present science to peers and faculty from medical schools across the country. Cash prizes awarded.
- Speed Mentoring – meet one-on-one with faculty mentors to discuss topics of your choice.
- F and K awards – learn the latest on awards and the application process from both the NCI and reviewers
